Coastal Environmental Baseline Program

Coastal Environmental Baseline Program Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s (DFO) Coastal Environmental Baseline Program supports the collection of ecological information on the current state of key coastal ecosystems across Canada. This initiative aims to acquire environmental baseline data (physical, chemical and biological) contributing to the characterization of important coastal areas and to support evidence-based assessments and management decisions for preserving marine ecosystems. From this page, you will find links to the data from projects undertaken from 2018-2022 at six coastal sites across Canada. 2024-03-22 Fisheries and Oceans Canada britt.dupuis@dfo-mpo.gc.ca Nature and EnvironmentScience and TechnologyPacific OceanBritish ColumbiaArctic OceanNunavutAtlantic OceanSt. Lawrence RiverQuebecNew BrunswickNewfoundland and LabradorCoastsShippingEnvironmentMarine biologyEcosystems Coastal Environmental Baseline Program (Maritimes Region), Port of Saint John region conductivity, temperature and depth dataHTML https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/abe8a6d2-ef8a-46f3-a28c-3b745ed09863 Vehicle and sonde data from an autonomous underwater vehicle survey of Musquash Marine Protected AreaHTML https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/8b2ab772-036e-49c6-b35d-e5c08ce3ef69 Coastal biodiversity of the benthic epifauna of the St. Lawrence Estuary (2018-2019)HTML https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/47f10264-1b59-4034-9679-3cb74f7527c7 Inventory of macroalgae and benthic macroinvertebrates on the north shore of the Saint-Lawrence Estuary (2019)HTML https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/9c96d46e-f45d-450d-9189-7e31b10fcde9 Characterization of the Batture-aux-Alouettes kelp bed in 2018-2019HTML https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/4675a6b4-2c27-4f8e-b813-1df3f8c896e2 Development of a coastal species characterization approach using environmental DNA (eDNA) using the marker Mifish (12S)HTML https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/f37aaeca-717d-4f13-bc42-bad029dcc9cb Development of a coastal species characterization approach using environmental DNA (eDNA) using the marker COIHTML https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/6319d10d-2ea7-44af-bfde-20e2da053d5a Biodiversity of the whelk (Buccinum) dredge survey in the St. Lawrence EstuaryHTML https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/e606ad01-843f-4730-93fa-f944dfbbbf07 Biodiversity of the snow crab trawl survey in the St. Lawrence Estuary (2019)HTML https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/97dac757-2ef6-4144-b7d9-a0d8d51f8319 Port of Saint John intertidal water level and temperature (2020-2022)HTML https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/1efae2f3-5f5a-4ef2-b448-1242d9cdf75d
