Request Summary: Please provide all documents, memoranda, e-mails, correspondence, briefing notes, and any other records, including drafts, from February 15, 2022, to July 11, 2022, respecting (1) the motion adopted by the House of Commons Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration on February 17, 2022, ordering the production of certain documents; (2) the Department's response to that motion; (3) correspondence between the Department and the House's Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel respecting the Committee's production order; (4) the May 3, 2022, appearance by the Associate Deputy Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship before the Committee, and the Committee's deliberations on the Department's response to its production order; (5) the May 12, 2022, appearance by the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, and Department officials, before the Committee, and the Committee's deliberations on the Department's response to its production order; (6) the motion adopted by the Committee on May 17, 2022, inviting Department officials and the Law Clerk to appear with respect to the production of documents; and (7) the May 19, 2022, appearances by the Law Clerk and the Acting Deputy Minister with respect to the production of documents. I would be happy to limit e-mails to those sent or received at the EX-minus-02 (e.g., AS-06, PM-06, IS-05, EC-06) level or higher. Please exclude (1) memoranda to Cabinet and aides-memoire for Cabinet consideration, (2) Treasury Board submissions, (3) speaking notes or decks for presentations to Cabinet or its committees, (4) copies of draft legislative texts, (5) briefing notes and covering memoranda concerning records in categories (1) to (4), (6) duplicate copies of e-mails (i.e., exclude earlier messages in a thread of e-mails if a later message contains the earlier message(s)), (7) publicly available versions of government documents (i.e., do not exclude drafts of those documents), (8) the French version of documents which are equally available in each official language, (9) off-topic information in otherwise responsive documents (e.g., news stories on other issues in a media summary), (10) unannotated transcripts of parliamentary debates and committee meetings, and (11) documents produced in response to the Committee's order.
