Imagine this fictitious example: a Government of Canada employee is blind enrolled in a Canada School of Public Class. The online class material has pictures of northern coast lines which the course developer is using to teach something important about the relationship between climate change and policy. The student is an accomplished geoscientist and the CSPS needs to give her equivalent alternative text so she can learn. This example illustrates the requirement of the CSPS to provide equivalent alternative text. Provide: a) Five recent examples of the Canada School of Public Service provide equivalent, alternative text for learners with sight loss. These should include i) the non-text entity (e.g., graph, image) and the ii) the equivalent alternative text. At least two of these should be for complex images (rather than charts or diagrams) b) If an external alternative text provider was hired to create the text, please provide sufficient documents (e.g., invoice) to know the company's name/location. c) All CSPS policies and guidelines and training materials for providing equivalent, alternative text for learners with sight loss. Per 4.(2.1), please ensure any PDFs are OCR'ed so they are usable by people with disabilities who rely on screen readers.
