In the document "Atomic energy Control Board- Significant Development Report" No. 1977-6 from 14 October- 29 December 1977 BMD77-164 File # 1-1-5-0 on page 6 it states, "Westclox Canada, Peterborough, Ontario have agreed to reduce the radium content of each clock to a maximum of 0.2 microcuries, the international recommended maximum level. They will also research alternative luminescent paints in a program to curtail, and possibly eventually to discontinue, the use of radium paint. Arrangements are being finalized with Dr. J. H. Aitken, Ontario Ministry of Labour, to have personnel exposed to these radium painting operations scanned in a whole body counter in the Toronto area." I would like to request copies of these tests.

I have been collecting information in regards to the history of Westclox in Peterborough. I would like to have copies of any records you have for their first location. 387 George Street south K9J 3E1. This building was used by the company when it was still under the name, "Western Clock Co. Limited". I am seeking confirmation that this company held a permit or license to have and use radium 226 on site. I would also like to have copies of permits or licenses to import pieces for production. Also, can you confirm that this building was decommissioned after the company moved locations to the 211 Hunter St. East. Thank-you very much for all of you information in the past.
