Konovalets was in Canada for three weeks. The visit began on or around 7 June 1929 in Winnipeg, MB. Konovalets was the leader of the Ukrainian Military Organization (Ukrainska viiskova orhanizatsiia or UVO) and the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN).

Investigation in deaths of Bramwell and Edward Heffernan (Daniel Perry Sampson arrested). Reference: RG18-F-7, RG18-F-5; and Reference: RG18-F-2, RG18M 967001, RG18-B-5. I am requesting all records related to the investigation and arrest of Daniel Perry Sampson for the deaths of Bramwell and Edward Heffernan (deceased July 19, 1933). This includes the entire investigative file as well as all notes and records by the investigating officers who were all Members of the RCMP in the Halifax, Nova Scotia detachment ('H' Division, Halifax dockyards and Halifax Sub Division) during the period including 1933 and 1935. The investigation into the deaths of the Heffernan boys commenced on or about July 19, 1933 and records reasonably exist up until Daniel Perry Sampson's execution on the morning of March 7, 1935 and possibly a month thereafter. The records are most likely held in the Halifax "H" Division operational records and/or the Criminal Investigation Branch records of the RCMP (RG18).

Father's name was Aaron Moses Ball, mother's name was Ellen Catherine Galbraith. Served 18-6-41 to Nov. 45. Ellery Ernest Ball died February 4, 1962. Found guilty on both charges, sentence forfs 63 days pay.

Directorate of History and Heritage J V Allard Fonds 84/126 files 27 and 43 for correspondence from Military Attache to Ottawa concerning a German scientist working on heavy water in the USSR contacting J V Allard as stated in his memoirs on page 138 this would be in the time frame of 1946-1949.. The CIA report states that two German scientists approached the Canadian embassy in the 1946-1948 time period. The heavy water article claims that one of the German scientist was Karl Herman Geib who was arrested for espionage
