I am looking for the file for Shinkuro Kozai. His card is on the Office of the Custodian of Enemy Property, reel c9301, card 0812. The case # on Mr.Kozai's card is #13192, which is, according to the finding aid, is on reel c9421, which is not publicly available. I am requesting this file, as Mr. Kozai has long since passed away, but he was the Japanese teacher in Nanaimo, B.C. before WWII. I am writing a history about the Japanese Canadian community in Nanaimo before WWII.

I am looking for the files for Yonekichi Nakatsu and his wife Ai. In the Office of the Custodian of Enemy Property. Yonechi's index card is on reel c9302, file #0223. His case file # is 1450, which should be on reel c9319, but that reel is not digitized. His wife, Ai Nakatsu, has an index card on reel c9302, file #0178. Her case file # is 3178 on reel c9333, but that reel is also not dignitized. Both returned to Japan in 1946, and have certainly been dead for more than 25 years. They owned a shop in Nanaimo before WWII.

The case file # is #6679, which is on reel #c9368, which is not digitized. His wife Riku Atagi, whose index card is c9299, file #0855. The case file # is #14304, which is on reel c9427, which is not digitized. Their son, Isamu Atago, has an index card on reel c9299, file #0842. The case file # is 14783 on c9429, but it is not digitized. All these people have passed away. All lived in Nanaimo, B.C. before WWII.

I am looking for files from the Office of the Custodian of Enemy Property. I am looking for the personal file of Takeji Samejima. His index card is on reel c9302 and file # 4102. His case file is #13196, which is on reel c9421, but it is not digitized. His wife, Shizu Samejima, has an index card that is also on reel c9302 and file #4101. Her case file # is 2776, which is on c9330, but that is also not digitized. Both passed away long ago. They lived in Nanaimo, B.C., where I am doing research.
