Whitebark pine reforestation - Jasper

Whitebark pine reforestation - Jasper Whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis) restoration supports Jasper National Park’s Multi-species Action Plan. Whitebark Pine is an Endangered Species protected under the Species at Risk Act (SARA) and it has an important role as a keystone species across mountain landscapes. Seeds were collected from whitebark pines identified as being putatively resistant to blister rust and were germinated in nurseries for subsequent planting. Permanent transect plots for resistant seedlings and circular plots for resistant seeds were established to monitor survival after planting. Bi-yearly data are collected from these plots to determine the survival of potentially resistant whitebark pines planted in Jasper National Park and Mount Robson Provincial Park. 2024-05-10 Parks Canada brenda.shepherd@pc.gc.ca Nature and EnvironmentJasper National ParkMount Robson Provincial Parkwhitebark pineblister rustreforestationrestorationWhitebark pineinus albicaulis) Whitebark pine reforestation - JasperCSV https://open.canada.ca/data/dataset/470fcb2f-2a5d-4407-b3b0-089762cce138/resource/e5453da1-12ae-4962-9327-147a374bfc89/download/jasper_np_forest_whitebark_pine_reforestation_2017_data.csv Whitebark pine reforestation - Jasper - Data DictionaryCSV https://open.canada.ca/data/dataset/470fcb2f-2a5d-4407-b3b0-089762cce138/resource/53f736dc-72b3-44e4-a57e-4011d412a175/download/jasper_np_forest_whitebark_pine_reforestation_2017_data_dictionary.csv
