Tax rates and pricing

Tax rates and pricing Municipal taxes represent the main source of revenue for the City of Montreal. They are composed of the general property tax, the water tax, the pricing of water in certain sectors, the road tax, the tax relating to the contribution to the ARTM as well as district taxes relating to services and investments. There are certain other taxes, applicable in particular according to the sector or type of building. This dataset presents tax and pricing rates (or tax charges) detailed by types of buildings: residential, non-residential, and vacant lots served or not. Tax rates apply to the annual adjusted value, that is, to the value on the property assessment roll combined with the measure of the spread of the change in value. In addition, in the case of mixed buildings, the portion of adjusted value used for the purposes of applying non-residential rates varies by [building class] (http://ville.montreal.qc.ca/pls/portal/docs/PAGE/SERVICE_FIN_FR/MEDIA/DOCUMENTS/TABLEAU_DES_CLASSES_D%27IMMEUBLES_INTERNET_FR.PDF).
