Inform every individual who is denied a benefit or entitlement that they have the right to appeal and what are those recourse mechanisms.

The Canadian constitution and entrenched human rights lay the foundation for an open and accountable government through its MPs, the designation of Ministers and the reporting by an independent and impartial public service.

Publishing datasets will only get us so far in demonstrating transparency to Canadians. We need something like https://usafacts.org/ to assist citizens in visualizing and understanding open data.

Government should make its environmental data (hydrology, meteorology, climatology, air quality, etc.) open to the public, not storing them in database and demand citizens to pay money for access to the dataset.

The Indigenous Language Act that is being drafted could provide recognition that Indigenous Nations have intellectual property ownership over their languages and cultural properties that relate to their identity as distinct cultures within the country

Pour moi, un gouvernement ouvert c'est un gouvernement qui fait participer la population à l'élaboration des politiques et à la prise de décision.

The information we receive from our elected officials has become very self-serving.  They have comprehensive communication teams that put together convoluted press releases to spin their story in the most positive light.
